RALLY FOR THE NHS – fringe event organised by Unite, GMB and Unison at Labour Party conference

nhsrallyThe Unite, GMB and Unison unions are holding a RALLY FOR THE NHS fringe event for delegates, observers and visitors at Labour Party conference in Manchester.

5.45pm, Sunday 21 September, Unite Marquee

Chair: Rachael Maskell, Unite head of health

Len McCluskey, Unite general secretary
Rehana Azam, Darlo Mum and GMB national organiser
Barbara Campbell, NHS Jarrow marcher – walked 300 miles to save our NHS
Andy Burnham MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Health
Karen Jennings, Unison assistant general secretary
Clive Efford MP, who has put forward a bill in Parliament
Mary Locke, Unison NHS campaigner

We comment: We welcome the fact the leaderships of health unions are organising this event, and hope it will be the start of a shift towards putting more pressure on Labour about the NHS. Check back for a report of the meeting!

(Also: it is shortly after our lobby, so delegates can join us, have a break and then attend the fringe.)
